Senior Mechanical Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team and play a crucial role in the design and development of our next-generation robotic systems. You will be responsible for the complete mechanical design lifecycle, from concept to production, ensuring our robots meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and safety.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Robotic System Design: Lead the mechanical design of robotic systems, including concept generation, 3D CAD modeling, prototyping, and testing.
  • Design Improvement: Continuously improve existing designs for enhanced performance, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Prototype Development: Build and test prototypes to validate design concepts and identify areas for improvement.
  • Production Transfer: Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure seamless transition from prototype to production.
  • Inventory and Production Management: Oversee inventory management and production processes to ensure timely delivery of high-quality robotic systems.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers, providing guidance and support throughout the design process.

 

Required Skills

  • Mechanical Design Expertise: Proven track record in mechanical design, with a strong emphasis on robotics or other dynamic control systems.
  • Mechanics, Kinematics, and Dynamics: Deep understanding of mechanics, kinematics, dynamics, static stress analysis, and dynamic system analysis.
  • CAD Modeling: Proficiency in CAD modeling, including surface modeling techniques.
  • Prototyping and Manufacturing: Extensive hands-on experience in prototyping and building mechanical systems, with knowledge of various manufacturing methods (CNC, additive manufacturing, etc.).
  • Materials Science: Good understanding of materials selection and properties, including metals, plastics, and composites.
  • Basic Electrical and Robotics Knowledge: Familiarity with electrical systems, microcontrollers, and basic robotics concepts.
  • Team Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a technical team.

 

Preferred Skills

  • Medical Device Experience: Experience in designing medical devices or systems that comply with FDA and IEC regulations.
  • Machine Learning: Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and their application in robotics.
  • Warehouse Automation: Experience in designing robotic systems for warehouse automation and material handling.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience(3 years for M.S. degree holder) in mechanical design, with a focus on robotics or dynamic systems.
